super-hot

Super-hot in the summertime before,
like gamma-ray bursts of love & war...

fleeting

I never went away. I just stopped.....stopped what? Thinking about these things.

Some things to ponder, now:

  • Baby monkeys

  • Man contacts ex to tell her about the life he didn't save. (Her first thought when she reads the e-mail? You misspelled a word)

  • Town, population two...

  • The future: Teens have sex on street corners, nothing's shocking

  • Today, I saw my future flash across the face of a Korean girl crossing against 14th Ave

Wonder When You'll Miss Me

Amanda is alive again. Really really alive. But only for a little while. Natalie and I both know she's going to die on Saturday. In the plane crash.

We can't tell her though. You're not supposed to fuck with fate, right?

And so we wander around, tired and sad but happy to see her for just a little while.

And we keep trying to think of new ways to say goodbye without making it seem like we're saying goodbye.

And Natalie is afraid she's got the time wrong and that she'll miss Amanda before she goes.

And I'm afraid too but I'm captivated by her eyes. Her beautiful big brown, very alive eyes.

If this is all we get with her, then it is so much better than what we've had.

gone

from CNN
WICHITA, Kansas (AP) -- Two young girls left unattended in an idling car were killed when the vehicle slipped into gear and ran over them after they fell out, police said.
A 4-year-old girl was struck Saturday as the vehicle -- which had been in the driveway of a house -- rolled into the street, said police Capt. Darrell Haynes.
A second girl, age 2, was hit after the car bounced against a curb on the street, he said.
Authorities did not release the children's names. Haynes said they were not siblings.
Firefighters covered their small bodies with bright blue blankets. A group of firefighters formed a circle, wiping away tears. One woman sobbed as she rocked back and forth near one of the bodies.
"I want my baby!" she screamed. "I want my baby!"
Another woman was taken by stretcher out of a house where the car had been sitting.

leaving, i'm

It's been so long since I'd been behind the wheel I had to resist the urge to yank it suddenly and crash into another car or squeal into a ditch.
